Spiritual Books www.CarolGoddard.net CarolGoddard .... Spiritual inspirational books By Carol Goddard There have been times in my life where I have read a book and it has been a signpost for me, opening up possibilities that I hadn\'t seen before. This is one of the reasons I love reading what are often referred to as spiritual inspirational books, as reading them has inspired me in ways that I couldn\'t have imagined possible. Beyond a purely inspirational book, a spiritual inspirational book allows me to awaken my soul and come home to the truth of who I am. The more I understand, the more I realise that the reason I am \'allowing\' each book to come to me at a given point in time is that I am ready to receive the gifts that it contains. At the core of our beings we all want to experience love. Often we seek it from external sources, only to eventually realise that it can only be cultivated from within. Making the effort to tap into and develop your own wellspring of love makes it easier to give and receive love freely, rather than conditionally. As a result, an attitude of love, gratitude and acceptance of others becomes one\'s default setting. Being with people around the raw times of birth and death has helped me to let go, trust and open my heart. The ensuing experience is a sense of magic and peace beyond all understanding. We draw to ourselves experiences that give us an opportunity to love and heal aspects of ourselves. The catalysts for these experiences can come in many forms -- people, books, opportunities, objects. When I am touched by an inspirational story, time seems to stand still, and for a moment, my heart opens and I get to experience a deeper part of myself being reflected back to me through the book. It is often stories about ordinary people that are the most touching. Spiritual stories -- where the protagonist expresses deep dimensions of their soul -- can be an excellent source of spiritual inspiration, reaching deep within the reader\'s own heart so that they too get to experience deeper dimensions of their own soul. This inspiration can often be so profound as to be a defining moment in their life, where a portal opens and a new perspective emerges. Stories have been used since the beginning of time, passed on orally and in pictorial or written form. Reading an inspirational story is one of the many joys of my life. I have long been fascinated by the extraordinary experience of the ordinary. By \'tuning in\' to the sacred in everything, I have come to realise that everyday living is my spiritual practice. In undertaking to fully experience each moment, what could be dismissed as ordinary occasions -- a greeting, warm smile, or thoughtful gesture -- are transformed into extraordinary moments. In the same way, a quick handful of blueberries before I head out the door is transformed into a sensory feast -- the deep blue, the soft fragrance, the feel of taut berries on my tongue and then the sound and burst as my jaw closes on the berries. A taste sensation, that is there for me to experience in the moment. This is the peace and joy of living from inspiration, and seeing and experiencing spiritual inspiration in each moment. © Carol Goddard 2008 ABOUT THE AUTHOR \'Soul Whisperer\' Carol Goddard has the \'rare\' ability to lead you to your essence. Relationships www.CarolGoddard.net Carol Goddard .... Relationships By Carol Goddard Why is family important to me? My family are my biggest teachers. My family are the ones who get to see me in my \'raw\' state. They are the ones who even when I don\'t like what is happening, or I can feel my self resisting something, my family are the ones who are best positioned for me to learn from. Our families are the ones that can usually see through masks we put up, and they are the ones that can push our buttons more than anyone else. So they offer us an amazing opportunity to grow and learn about ourselves. What ever bug\'s you in the family unit there is a reason for it. So there is some learning experience that you can have from that. If you focus on the problem you can spend years getting upset and caught up in the drama, all it does is lead to further frustration and anger, if you stop and look at why it is the way that it is, you may just have a learning experience. We can change the questions that we ask ourselves from: Why is this person doing this to me? To: What can I learn from this experience? This is where we can move beyond playing out the childhood belief structures and set ups and interact with each other as adults. So why are relationships important to me? When I am interacting with another person I get to see another point of view which broadens my perspective, that\'s why interacting with people who have a different outlook enriches my life. I love the adventure and the playfulness of getting to know other people. I get to explore the unknown. The unknown is the opportunity for me to learn something from a different perspective and the opportunity to broaden my horizon. Following my heart not my head. I am learning to follow my heart rather than my head. What does that mean? Follow the inner knowing that comes from deep within. Sometimes as I tune into the deep knowing, my old belief patters start to scream out in an effort to stop me from following my heart. That\'s when I can step back and look and see what is going on and realize that this is another opportunity for me to learn. Then it is about integrating the learning into my life so that the next interaction I have is from an expanded space. For me this is the way, and it saves me recreating the same scenario over and over again, sound familiar? This way I get to work it out, integrate it and then open myself for my next learning. What fun! For me this is the playground where I get to expand and remind myself that if nothing changes then nothing changes....... I get to learn about me from the people that come into my life. And I get to experience love and gratitude for each experience along the way. © Carol Goddard 2008 ABOUT THE AUTHOR \'Soul Whisperer\' Carol Goddard has the \'rare\' ability to lead you to your essence. John Castagnini has made it his mission to compile some of the most challenging issues we face in experiencing gratitude into a book series that will heal and open hearts around the globe by sharing one simple message: "Our greatest lessons come in the form of our greatest challenges!" For about a decade John Castagnini has been sharing his services in the area of personal development through heart opening workshops, seminars, and consults around the world. Having consulted and assisted many different people dealing with many different issues, one concept became apparent to John; The "victim" is not past the "tragedy" until he/she is able to say "Thank God" for it. As God would have it, John ended up consulting with many women who had experienced rape and assisted them one by one in becoming grateful and watched them with tears of gratitude in their eyes say: "Thank God I Was Raped." John knew deeply that the underlying concept of GRATITUDE for EVERYTHING that one experiences is the greatest wisdom and skill one can learn. At that point John decided to collect the inspiring stories from these incredible women and write the Book, Thank God I Was Raped. What is your Thank God I...Story? www.ThankGodI.com [More] [Less]

Reflections www.CarolGoddard.net Carol Goddard .... Holding Up a Mirror By: Carol Goddard When I realize that everything is a mirror giving me feedback on my journey, any judgment or resentment of others becomes a gift from them allowing me to see and explore an aspect of me that I hadn\'t previously looked at. With this awareness that those around me are reflecting back to me aspects of myself, I have the opportunity to dissolve judgment, resentment and fear, as I see the gift they are giving me. This allows my inner love, gratitude, ease and grace to shine. I have come to realize that we are all amazingly creative, we are \'painters\', painting on our canvas of life, and what ever we can comprehend and \'paint\' becomes the experience of our lives. Some of us paint with broad brush strokes and others bring the subtleties to life. Because we so wanted to fully experience the \'painting\' we stepped into it. And in stepping into the painting, and fully experiencing it we forget that it was a painting and that we could step out at any time and see it all and appreciate its beauty. We paint what ever we are next to experience, to see the fullness of the experience: the dark and light, night and day, once we see and then experience the wholeness, we have a sense of completeness of the experience. If you are only seeing or experiencing one aspect eg. Seeing only the dark of the experience, the experience will feel incomplete. So in an ongoing effort to understand the experience fully we recreate similar experiences -- paint another painting and so give ourselves another opportunity to see and experience the wholeness of the experience, the dark and the light. When we see the completeness, the positive and the negative extremes merge and we experience love. Then you no longer need to keep re creating that experience. If you find yourself in repetitive situations where the same \'theme\' keeps recurring over and over, and you want to \'get it\' this time, then I invite you to step back and see that what you have been seeing is one aspect, one perspective and realize that no one perspective can hold the entire truth of the matter. Stepping out of the picture is a metaphor it is really a stepping up to a higher vibration, you are still in a picture, one that is at a lighter, higher vibration, less dense, less solid. Awakening is this process, it is a remembering. The gentleness and beauty of this process is that we start to rouse, start to awaken, it comes from within, and we start to bring people into our world to mirror to us so that we can see and understand what is happening. It is not about throwing a bucket of ice water over someone to \'wake them up\', what a shock that would be, it would be like plucking someone out of their \'painting\', and how arrogant of us to think that we knew what was in someone else\'s best interests, it is their journey. It is about allowing people to \'sleep\', experiencing being in their \'painting\' and as you notice someone waking up, starting to step out of their \'painting\', and they start asking questions, guide them to find the answers within, it is their awakening. Our awakening is our remembering that we are a painter and that to fully experience the \'painting\' we stepped into it, our awakening is our stepping out seeing another perspective, if you are in the process of stepping out and seeing your \'painting\' from a different perspective, realizing that you are the Painter on your canvas of life, welcome home! Carol invites you to come and be with her and see reflected to you what lies within. © Carol Goddard 2008 ABOUT THE AUTHOR \'Soul Whisperer\' Carol Goddard has the \'rare\' ability to lead you to your essence.
